Sensex up 44 points in early trade

Mumbai, Mar 19 (PTI) The Bombay Stock Exchange Friday opened over 44 points higher, extending gains for the fourth straight day on sustained buying after the upgrading of the country's sovereignty rating. The sensex, which had gained nearly 380 points in the last three sessions, added 44.54 points at 17,563.80 points in the first five minutes of trading. Similarly, the wide-based national stock exchange Nifty index rose by 15.55 points to 5261.45 points. ...
